I doubt that Bernie reads the Daily Kos on any given day, but I’m sure many of his followers do, and maybe they can help me out.
Exactly what is a Democratic Socialist? How does it differ from Socialism?
From what I’ve been able to glean from various sources, Socialism is defined as
any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods.
Is that what Bernie is advocating for? The taking over of all means of production from what we now call the free enterprise system? Or is a Democrat Socialist someone who will call for a vote on what free enterprises the government will take over?
Now there are a number of things that might benefit from a government takeover, e.g. healthcare, but as long as Bernie continues calling himself a Socialist, whether it be a democratic one or not, and advocating for the takeover of the means of production and distribution of [all] goods, he’s not getting my vote, nor will he get the votes of the vast majority of Americans.
If Bernie ever expects to win the election, he’s going to need to shed himself of that label, if it’s not too late to do so already
