With some ideas about supporting the arts community below.
Some of us are lucky, we can work from home and have real work to do and get a paycheck still. My wife and I worry for all of you Artists, cooks, dishwashers, waiters, theater people, House cleaners, hairdressers, taxi and Uber drivers and so many others in-service industries that are desperately wondering what is going to happen over the next four or five months. And for you medical workers, who know that you will be overwhelmed while you are at the same time at higher risk. And for all of you emergency responders, who will Also be overwhelmed and at higher risk. And for all of you I would have someone close who is at higher risk. There are very dark days ahead for many of us, I’m afraid. All while our Republican-led government continues to screw up every step they could’ve taken And struggle to come up with a one time thousand dollar payment!
I wanted to let you all know about a great podcast that you should listen to, in which Joe Rogan interviews Michael Osterholm, an internationally recognized expert in infectious disease epidemiology. This interview has great background information on the development of COVID-19, where we are headed and many other fascinating related things. www.hotnewhiphop.com/…
I think I have posted this link correctly, if I haven’t you can find it on YouTube pretty easily. I haven’t seen this posted here on the DKOS, although it might have been mentioned in comments somewhere. Joe Rogan has a great podcast series, so you might enjoy some of his other posts for your in-home entertainment.
For ourselves, we are working on reducing the rent for a couple of wonderful artist tenants that we have. If you are a theater or movie go or, or eat out a lot, you can put that savings into the arts and entertainment community in other ways too. Get creative!
At least we have a decent state and local response here in Minneapolis from our Democratic leaders.

P. S. Can I get a Covid-19 blues, anyone?
pps my wife SHARON‘s artwork above, entitled crying for America, was done as a response to our country’s attack on Iraq after 9-11. It continues to represent so many things the current Republican administration has done and continues to do to undermine our democracy and hurt our wonderful immigrant heritage hand citizens.
