I’m done.
I’m done listening to Senator Sanders & his followers thrashing the party.
If Senator Sanders & his followers had any iota of integrity, they need to apologize for thrashing the party because he isn’t winning.
Senator Sanders has no one to blame but himself. The consolidation of the Dem party leaders, voters around Joe Biden was brought about by no one but Sen Sanders.
In 2015, he started as a policy wonk. In 2016, the notion was disabused because he couldn’t answer basic policy questions in a disastrous New York Post Interview. In the 2020 cycle, Senator Sanders realized that Senator Elizabeth Warren takes the role of the Policy Wonk and so, he went about establishing a notion of ‘Revolution’. I don’t have issues with his strategy.
In 2016 cycle, Sen Sanders lost any semblance of winning the nomination by late March. He held on through the end of the primary cycle. He launched a trial balloon in May that Super delegates should put him on the ticket and found no support for that position.
A couple of weeks ago, he started talking about the candidate with the most delegates, irrespective of whether he/she crossed 50% of total delegates, should be the party nominee. This was the most likely trigger for the liberal part of the party (not the extreme-left) to realize that they didn’t want to splinter the delegates amongst many candidates. Pete, Amy (& now, Bloomberg) dropped out and told the electorate to consolidate behind Joe Biden.
It’s sad that Sen Sanders and his followers don’t realize that the party consolidation, so quickly, is because of their own actions.
Since the Saturday defeat in South Carolina, i have seen an increasingly boisterous Sanders campaign pushing a narrative that the Dem party ‘rigged’ the primary & the ‘establishment’ want to defeat him.
It’s pathetic, juvenile and downright insulting to the electorate that Sanders & his team consider them as a nuisance to tolerate rather than his master.
Sen Sanders, the party members spoke to you over the last 4 days. Have the humility to accept the results. For reference, look at how Sen Warren has accepted the results.
For crying out loud, there are kids in cages on the border; a global pandemic under way; economy under strain; underinvestment in America’s public institutions & rising income inequality.
Fight the issue on policies, not personalities. It ain’t that hard
