and they left their homes, to scream and fight
about being wronged and their supposed rights
for haircuts, golf, and beaches to bask
next to each other, without wearing a mask
tattoos, gyms and nail salons too
things so important, only to fools
on state capitol steps they made a stand
a hundred covidiots some packing heat
thinking it’s freedumb
like the orange one's tweets
they’d listened to Fox and they listened to Rush
to Hannity’s denying and Facebook’s lying
Trump's chloroquine never saved a soul
but he hoped misinformation, would raise his polls
and states reopened early, most without care
found the stores empty, their customers scared
no trust for this government, with safety or health
or the desire of big business, to increase their wealth
and nurses sighed, while doctors cried
as seniors and the compromised continued to die

This was written to express the sadness generated by reality,
as opposed to the hopeful, bright visions of Kitty O'Mear.
