Morning Open Thread is a daily, copyrighted post, from a host of editors and guest writers. We support our community, invite and
share ideas, and encourage thoughtful, respectful dialogue in an open forum.
This series was conceived as a haven where folks can drop in to share conversation, ideas, weather reports, and music. Feel free to leave a note, comment, picture, or tune. As always the diarist gets to sleep in, and may show up long after the post is published. So you know, it's a feature, not a bug.
Pull up a chair, get your cup of tea, coffee, or other favorite morning beverage and join us for a neighborly start to the day ahead.
It has only been a few days for most of us, but cabin fever is setting in. Some have used the time productively to get long-neglected chores done, some work from home, while others play music.
Personally, I have taken up naptime as my new hobby. However, once we get caught up on sleep, fully rejuvenated, it is time to occupy ourselves productively. We have plans aplenty for the next few days weeks months.
Here is what John Fogerty and his family are doing during the self-quarantine.
Then there is Tennessee’s own Justin Johnson, coming to us from his workshop studio.
Now just suppose you are a Deadhead with a huge supply of Lego blocks. What to do? How about building a replica of the famous “Wall of Sound.”

This music video collaboration from a distance seems appropriate for quarantine days.
From the notes to the video:
“Fare you well, fare you well, I love you more than words can tell”. The world is grieving right now, no matter how alone you feel, we are all truly in this together. #onelove
That song was for my love. It would be a lot lonelier here if it were not for my Sockpuppet. She sustains me.
This is an open thread. We have jokes, weather reports, lies stories, and gossip. Come in and have a chair with good company.
