So many have observed and commented how the White House COVID19 briefings are wasteful. Worse: the president spews lies, disinformation, electioneering, propaganda. At the same times, Americans fall seriously ill and die. Their families, coworkers, and communities are in pain.
Although I find these pressers completely unwatchable and change the channel, I cannot help wondering about the lives being lost — every day — while this harmful nonsense is disseminated and our press eats it up like kids with orange halloween candy. How I wish they would use the same time to honor the sick and those whom we have lost. Use the time to tell us about their lives.
And by the way …. Agent Orange (pure poison to life) never seems to getting around to making statements about our tragic losses, the people who have passed, as Governor Cuomo does, with his strong New York accented empathy, every single day.
So I’ve begun to wonder, how many people are dying he speaks. Out of an abundance of curiosity (and of course, extra time on the couch these days), I decided to figure this out. The numbers are from WaPo and C-SPAN.
For example, yesterday, April 8, the briefing went on for more than an hour and a half. And on the same day, we lost 1,973 Americans — give or take, one every forty-five seconds. This equates to 144 American deaths over the time the press conference occurred.
Just the same, over the last few weeks:

Yes, I know — this is a bit sad, almost gruesome. I surprise myself, really. Yes, my numbers are averages and odd approximations.
Yet, while he yaps away, saying less than nothing, Americans dying and families were in pain with not an ounce of recognition or empathy. And just as horrendously, he is not doing the job.
We all have choices. The media carries this daily dangerous nonsense, but it has choices.
He must resign. He must be called upon to resign. We must call for his resignation every chance we get.
VOTE BLUE!!!
