Folk singer Tim Easton has just dropped Campfire Propaganda, Vol. 1, an album of protest songs that Tim describes as “mostly older songs, recorded differently, at home, with new attitude.” From now until Election Day, all proceed will be donated to defendingblacklives.org.
Among the new songs is “Son, My Son”, based on experience that Tim had while stopping off at a store on his way to a demonstration in the middle of a pandemic:
I went down to the market
to buy whatever I wanted
I told the woman who worked there
I was afraid to leave my home
She said “son, my son, that’s how I feel every day.”
If you are not familiar with Tim Easton’s work, Campfire Propaganda is a good a place as any to start. If you are in the club already, what are you what are you waiting for?
