Music calms me and keeps me going. Pete Seeger is an old favorite. But books can help if they are the right ones.
So comfort stories are on my mind again during these hard days. I ordered a book about people setting up a bookstore in an unlikely place, The Little Bookstore of Big Stone Gap: A Memoir of Friendship, Community, and the Uncommon Pleasure of a Good Book.
Hubby got my Dortmunder books by Westlake off the shelf for me to re-read for comfort. I have nine of them plus one that is not Dortmunder. I expect to laugh a lot.
I used to frequent The Curious Bookstore in East Lansing when I was first married. I never could buy much of even the used books, but I enjoyed the visit. There was a bookstore in State College, PA, that I visited every year for many years when we went there for a business trip. I always found something that I wanted. Can you believe that I found some neat books at Wall Drug when we went West so loooong ago?

So what bookstores have you enjoyed?

READERS & BOOK LOVERS SERIES SCHEDULE
Youffraita says hi to everyone here. Our letters crossed in the mail so I don’t know if she has her lights back or not. I am guessing yes. If anyone is in contact with the pootie diaries, please mention that she misses them a lot, too.
ccc: She listened to Cosi fan Tutti done by the Lyric Opera of Chicago on the radio.
She is interested in bird watching behind the shop where she works. She is in pursuit of a new toaster, but has had no luck so far. As always, I will be glad to pass on any comments you wish to send to her.
