California making a surprisingly valiant effort to stay in the game for the “place” position after having faded badly in the backstretch, but Texas or Florida may be unstoppable for that, though New York may be untouchable for the “win”, although moving now like Dobbin back to the barn after a hard day in fields. Watch out for Arizona, still a dark horse, but not out of the picture to be in the money.
