There was some news(?) reported by MSNBC that Republican Kentucky State Attorney General Daniel Cameron was ready to go to a grand jury about the Breonna Taylor case. Cameron swatted this story down:
Attorney General Daniel Cameron on Wednesday said that rumors about the Breonna Taylor investigation "do nothing to advance justice."
"When the investigation concludes and a decision is made, we will provide an update about an announcement," Cameron wrote in a statement shared to Twitter. "The news will come from our office and not unnamed sources. Until that time, the investigation is ongoing."
Sounds good, huh? Too bad Cameron is an amoral Moscow Mitch protegee with delusions of grandeur who has no intention of charging the cops who killed Breonna Taylor. Cameron has his eye on higher office, and I cannot see him alienating the police by charging one of their own with criminal charges. Translation: Cameron is a partisan political hack who puts Bill Barr to shame.
Breonna Taylor is killed in March. Does anyone know when Daniel Cameron got the case? Glad you asked:
The city and the nation are waiting impatiently for an announcement from Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, whose investigation into her death has dragged on since LMPD turned over its case file to the agency on May 20 — a case file The Courier Journal is suing to make public.
Nearing the fourth month mark for Cameron. Oh, Cameron has his excuses. It took time for the FBI to get the ballistics report to him...blah, blah, blah.
And what was Daniel Cameron doing in the meantime while waiting on the FBI? He was speaking at the Republican National Convention in support of Donald Trump.
In addition to slamming Biden and criticizing the "radical left," Cameron also offered a resounding endorsement of Trump at the RNC Tuesday night and singled out the commander in chief's approach to criminal justice reform, the economy and immigration as worthy of praise.
"Let me close with something my mom told me: This country’s many faces comprise a family, not separate parts to be divided against each other," Cameron said. "And though we fuss and fight, we are not enemies. We are Americans, united by a collective faith in our Constitution and laws, and the fundamental fairness they represent."
"We are defenders of life and of individual liberty," he said. "That’s my Republican Party — the party of (former President Abraham) Lincoln that believes America is an indispensable nation, an evergreen tree standing tall in a turbulent world."
"And that’s why I am voting for Donald Trump for president," Cameron concluded.
And he was using a lot of “mob” talk that Moscow Mitch and Trump throw around:
"Even as anarchists mindlessly tear up American cities while attacking police and innocent bystanders, we Republicans do recognize those who work in good faith towards peace, justice and equality," Cameron said Tuesday night. "Whether you are the family of Breonna Taylor or David Dorn, these are the ideals that will heal our nation's wounds."
"Republicans will never turn a blind eye to unjust acts, but neither will we accept an all-out assault on western civilization," he continued.
Uh huh.
And it is not just on systemic racism that Cameron is in lock step with his fellow Republicans. Cameron has filed a lawsuit that seeks to overturn all of Governor Andy Beshear’s orders to combat the coronavirus. Cameron believes that Beshear’s orders to save Kentuckians lives are “unconstitutional.” Cameron has stated that he thinks wearing a mask should be left up to individuals.
This is standard Republican politicization of a public health crisis that has killed nearly 200,000 people.
And this has not gone unnoticed by the mass murderer in the White House.
Trump lists Kentucky AG Daniel Cameron as potential US Supreme Court nominee
Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron has been named as one of 20 additional potential nominees for the U.S. Supreme Court by President Donald Trump, should Trump win reelection.
Cameron, the 34-year-old protege of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, was elected in November.
Cameron would be an unlikely choice for the high court, given his age and lack of experience. He was admitted to practice law nine years ago.
So let’s see. Cameron is dragging his feet on the Breonna Taylor investigation. He makes political speeches about the radical left and thinks Trump is great. Cameron has embraced the Republican Death Cult on the coronavirus. And he is being mentioned as a potential U.S. Supreme Court nominee if Trump wins.
It would be more than shocking if Cameron indicted any of the cops who killed Breonna Taylor.
