The Wisconsin Supreme Court has ruled that ballots will not need to be reprinted to allow Green Party candidate Howie Hawkins and other Green candidates to be listed. The ruling came with the surprise vote of one of the court’s conservative judges, who broke and voted with the liberal judges.
The Greens had earlier been refused listing on the ballot for procedural reasons. They waited two weeks to file an appeal, and unfortunately for them the court ruled that that was too long, and that reprinting the ballots now would risk disrupting the election.
The Greens also waited to find a lawyer who would take their case. They eventually did, a lawyer reported to have been funded by unnamed Republicans interested in adding candidates that could siphon votes away from Biden.
