440K dead in a year. With the Biden administration now in charge, let’s hope this is the beginning of the end.
The pace of deaths and cases seems to be declining. The numbers are still incredibly high, but they are going down. We haven’t had a day with over 200K cases in nearly two weeks. However, since deaths lag cases, deaths will continue to surpass 3,000 a day, and 4,000 on some days. But these should begin to decline as well.

Currently averaging 20K deaths every 13.95 days (doesn’t include the time to reach first 20K). Death rate is increasing. We are still at a record breaking pace of deaths. With cases staying at 150-200K cases a day, the death rate is going to stay elevated for a while.

Case growth appears to be slowing down. It’s possible this is being cause by a weekend reporting affect, but cases overall seem to be declining week to week.
