Hello, my dear Kos family. I’m not one who posts much but I do have a few cool attributes. Back in 1980, I started DJ’ing at Pacifica Radio KPFT in Houston. In retrospect, I could not have landed there at a more opportune time. I had become a bit bored with major label rock and happened to meet with some staff and programmers there that have helped me be introduced to a DJ’s life and for the last 4 decades, I’ve been programming in some fashion.
One of the most popular DJ’s during those early halcyon days of punk, alternative, and beneath the radar rock was Art Gnuvo. He managed a local record store in Houston and was one of our city’s accomplished musicologists in the realm of 20th-century rock etc.. He was known for his ample collection of music and would program a Christmas music show annually. Art’s moved on to San Diego but still has some embers in the fire when it comes to Christmas music that doesn’t suck. Below are some links to get access to this year’s show in case the typical holiday music fare has lost some of its sheen
Welcome to the annual Christmas Music That Doesn't Suck Show. Much thanks to Art Gnuvo, who has done most of the heavy lifting involved and posted 130+ songs of holiday cheer in the hopes of you will not be having to hear Bing or Mariah this season. Although this show will broadcast on Friday night from 9-Midnight on
KPFT.org/listen HD2, I encourage you to experience the show in its entirety at The Brain Storm Soundcloud page today.

Here's the link to the annual Christmas Music That Doesn't Suck Show Pt. 2. Much thanks to
Art Gnuvo for his tireless work herding these songs for us all to enjoy.
P.S. Thanks to all the diarists who are gifted rhetorically and have been inspirational and informative and angry and amusing. You all give me hope for a fairer planet.
