The low brow, anti maskers collected over 26000 signatures (less than 1%of total voters in the state) from their under educated swampers to join in a recall of our Democratic Governor Jon Bel Edwards. The “Freedumb” movement went round the state to canvass these bozos, the same ones who traipse around all the big box stores sans masks and forego social distancing, ginned up a major complaint against the COVID19 requirements set forth by our Governor. You know those regulations that are intended to help all of us avoid the spread of this deadly virus. Their “bleating whines” are that it infringed on their personal constitutional guarantee that the government has no right to make and enforce regulations that they don’t like.
Several judges in the state have upheld Edwards' coronavirus restrictions and face covering requirement.
The recall petition was filed by Lee Joseph Vidrine and Michael Lyn Vidrine, both of Eunice. In its reason for seeking a recall, the petition accused Edwards of “impeding the constitutional freedoms and livelihoods of all Louisiana citizens without concrete scientific data” and “unconstitutionally mandating that masks be worn in all public places.”
The attempt to collect enough signatures for this recall to happen, fell far, far short of the number of signatures needed. Maybe they should slip over into Mississippi and try to get more signatures there. Of course that’s illegal but to these cretins, following the trumpian example, that wouldn’t make a lot of difference.
