560K dead and things are getting a lot better, but also a little mixed.
We now have more people fully vaccinated (48 million) than have been publicly diagnosed with covid (30 million)
The pace of deaths is declining rapidly. The numbers are still incredibly high, but they are going down. Cases on the other hand seem to have plateaued and are slightly increasing.

Currently averaging 20K deaths every 12.88 days (doesn’t include the time to reach first 20K). Death rate is decreasing. With cases staying at 50-70K cases a day, the death rate is going to stay elevated, but with the elderly being vaccinated (currently at 71% of everyone over 65 having received at least 1 shot), numbers might continue to decline even with high case numbers.
