Another bucket of Florida wildflowers - well all except one which is pretty obvious when you see it.
The cover photo is a mix of Spotted Beebalm and Black-eyed Susan along my driveway - both wildflowers.
Something new along my driveway and so happy to see; been scattering seeds for awhile and one finally took. Some call it White Crownbeard ...
others say Frostweed which makes little sense. If it had yellow flowers it would be called Wingstem which you can see along the leaves and lower stem.
A wonderful surprise this morning down the hill where it is wet. A couple weeks ago I found several of the exotic Ludwigia but this one is a native commonly called Seedbox for the square fruit. I had to uncover it from the Climbing Hempvine and Dogfennel — looks like it will do just fine.
well we got this far and all of the above are native wildflowers but this Daylily sure isn’t. Naturalized in a way and certainly pretty in the late afternoon sun.
That’s all for this bucket of wildflowers. Time to check the BYS list and queue and then it’s published. Maybe check for ty[pos as I did write it up pretty quick.
See ya in the comments with nature news from your area….
