Hi all. Rosebuddear here. It’s been awhile. Just wanted to wish everyone a happy holiday season and say thank you to Kos, staff, and all folks here for all the work you do. I don’t think that gets said enough by us out here. This place has been instrumental in getting lots of good Democrats elected and we out here in flyover country are most grateful for that.
I don’t spend too much time on this or any other social media these days, I’ve gotten old, less energetic, more introverted and way more busy with this caretaking stuff. I’ve been following the caretaking diaries here with interest, everything everyone said in them is true. I am lucky, Dad is 92, quite feeble, and needs a lot of my time and attention, but he is still very much in his right mind. He and his doggie Herbie say hi.
Still, it’s a full time job. I am happy to report that Dad recently got a pacemaker put in (for years they wouldn’t do it because they were afraid of stopping his blood thinners for a couple of days), and it actually seems to be working as advertised. Yay! Up until quite recently when that was done, we were in the emergency room with him almost weekly, since he has a-fib and congestive heart failure, and Could. Not. Breathe.
Since that operation, he has been comfortable and breathing fine on his current dose of Lasix. What a relief! Knock on wood, again.
Of course, now he has more energy to return to being a crotchety old PITA. 😂😂😂😂. You gotta love him, I have new Dad stories to tell just about every day. I just wish he would quit buying me crap off the TV (yeah he’s one of THOSE) that I Do. Not. Want. LOLOLOL. I now have one of those stupid Angel View mirrors for the car (which do not improve your side vision, btw — front seat headrests block all that view anyway), I leave it on to keep the peace because he thinks it’s wonderful, but I feel ridiculous. Oh well. Pick your battles. hahaha. Still, I am so happy to still have him with me.
So, heck of a ride the last few years eh? It looks to me from where I sit that some of these MAGAs might finally be coming to their senses a little. At least that’s the impression I get locally. Let us fervently hope so, and that it is a trend that will continue.
Anyway, thanks for reading and hi to all my friends, particularly PWB Peeps. I have not forgotten you. Hope you all have a safe and happy holiday season, I just wanted to check in and tell you we are fine here at Casa Rose.
Love, Rose
