Here’s the headline right now at CBS [alleged] “News”:
Ted Cruz says Russia is invading Ukraine because of Biden's "enormous" mistakes
Got that? “Ted Cruz says” a thing, and that’s “news.”
And that’s the whole article. Seriously. An entire “news” article, passed off as “news,” in which CBS [alleged] “News” gives Ted Cruz — yes, that Ted Cruz — a platform to “say” a whole bunch of things, and the article tells us practically nothing other than what Ted Cruz “says.”
"What we're seeing right now is the most serious military conflict in Europe since World War II," Cruz told CBS News chief election and campaign correspondent Robert Costa on Thursday. "It is devastating, and unfortunately, I expect it's likely to get worse before it gets better. What is frustrating is that what is happening right now was entirely avoidable. The reason that Russia is invading Ukraine is because of enormous mistakes that the Biden administration has made, and two in particular."
It continues like that, on and on, paragraph after paragraph. To the extent it doesn’t quote Cruz directly, it paraphrases what he said to the “reporter,” who apparently interviewed him at CPAC. There’s no discussion of whether or not anything Cruz “says” has any validity.
Again, just so we’re clear: This is an entire “news” article that does nothing but recite, quote, and paraphrase things that Ted Cruz “says.”
