So the results from my diary with poll are above. Only 43% of the respondents thought the chances were greater than 50:50 that after the mid-terms a Democratic Congress (including a Senate with enough votes to eliminate the filibuster) and President would pass critical legislation. That’s pretty discouraging given this website is full of moderate to rabid democrats. So little hope … enthusiasm?
But aside from other potential confounders in this poll, it’s possible that asking for all that — abortion right, voting rights, gun control and aggressive environmental legislation — was a bridge or three too far. Perhaps, many who saw it as 50:50 and below were thinking no way to get all that in two years.
So here’s a more limited poll focused on just abortion rights. Again the assumptions are that in the mid-terms the Dems keep the house, win more seats in the Senate enough to eliminate the filibuster and continue with a Dem President. So GOTV and complete the poll below!
