After a long day, I sit down and start binge-watching wood working videos on youtube. I audition-watch a new woodturner and select a video as “next one to watch”
Then I see one by Jackman Works. I love his stuff, so skip the new guy and go straight to this one:
At the 1-minute mark, the scene from the above screen shot appears. This was not a mistake—he’s a meticulous craftsman, and would not make such a “mistake” if he cared about his non-MAGA audience. I stopped watching at that point and closed the window on this guy.
So, he’s banished from my watch list. I won’t spend time from my life with someone who disrespects what I believe in. (Understatement of the year.)
I don’t care how nice a guy he may be in person, or how he comes across on camera. Politics is character. His political choices are toxic to the US. He has a fair-sized following, he has sponsors, but he doesn’t realize all this free speech he’s go will go away if he gets his MAGA wish.
It seems to me this was a way to say “hi” to all his MAGA buddies without ever discussing politics. I doubt it was designed to drive away viewers. Ah, those unintended consequences!
