This morning we went to walk in the parade down main street of Hendersonville, NC with the county Democratic Party. We were well organized and had a good turnout — half a dozen vehicles with signs, balloons, speakers and a DJ, plus a couple dozen people walking with signs and banners.. I think we had the largest contingent in the parade, though we were not as cute or well groomed as the llama farm.
There was an RFK Jr. group of about ten. They had one car, and I have the photo to prove it was a “classic” Chevrolet Corvair. Who likes metaphors? The guy driving it, who had a slight resemblance to RFKJ, along with some of the others, and their Corvair with out-of-state plates, had an astroturf sense about them.
About ten feet into the parade the Corvair broke down, and they scrambled to pull off some of the signs to walk with them in front of us. Again, photo for proof.
Will they buy that campaign slogan from Ralph Nader?
