When I was 9 years old, my Mother made me watch the Watergate hearings on television. She told me, “This is history being made, you’ll tell your children about this someday” I never had children, much to my mother’s annoyance (my sister had The Grandchild) Thanks to my mother, watching the hearings made me a news junkie and a politics junkie. It gave me a basic education about how our government works. Some of it went over my head, but being a precocious kid, I soaked up quite of a bit of it.
50 years later (whoa) we are again faced with a former president who has broken the law in order to remain in power. We should be allowed to watch the judicial proceedings in order to verify for all the doubters out there about the crimes that were committed. It will educate a new generation of Americans about our government and Democracy.
And I, for one, am missing our late night comedians like a hunger I can’t satisfy. How about you?
