It’s time once more to slog through another election cycle, as we greet morning email wake ups with another 115 messages begging for campaign money you’ll never see spent — more goofy diatribes from republican pundits daily proclaiming that America under Democrats is like living in Angola — more DNC chum-baiting the primaries to ensure that their corporate donors get their appropriate handicap fixes in for their preferred candidates — more unpunished and unanswered libel from the usual crime bosses and the propaganda apparatchiks in the media — more hijinx from a congress that behaves like a PG-rated adult remake of “Lord Of The Flies” every time they need to create an operating budget for the country. And this time the circus is offering a new attraction: an actual indicted and convicted criminal seen to have committed treason, rape, sexual assault, child molestation, tax fraud, election tampering and insurrection, still wandering… er… waddling through the streets courtesy of a comically emasculated “justice” system… who is actually campaigning for the highest leadership position in the country. (Seriously. I don’t know anyone who’s sufficiently batshit-insane crazy enough to make something like this up.)
Yes, folks — the Nielsen ratings will be going ballistic this year, and America’s corporations will be fighting for advertising spots like vicious starving curs if any of Trump’s court trials are televised. Selecting leadership in America is now a stylized gladiator blood sport for the masses without a Coliseum and the usual pride of starving lions; spectators need only flip on their Androids and iPhones to experience the butchering of democratic civility. “Bread and Circuses” has become thoroughly Americanized while we’re getting played by the hucksters and propaganda mills. Anybody who’s been keeping score on these things over the last 40 years will tell you this has never been about any damned election. It’s about ad revenue and viewership used by the financial elite to fill their tills using intellectual pugilism and America’s general political ignorance as cudgels.
SO...
Since the widespread notion that “there’s no difference between Democrats and Republicans” remains endemic; and nobody appear to have seen the utility of pointing out the stark delta between the two parties actual positions on issues that directly affect the quality of life for ALL Americans, I designed a small tool that could possibly provide a useful end-around to the inevitable upcoming melee of libelous, defamatory bullshit from the media, and herewith attach same in the hope that campaign door knockers might consider getting it printed in order to offer copies to the places they visit. It could even serve as a script for a mass media run: were it me, I’d break it out as separate line items and run each one as a 10 second PSA spot.
An old guy once told me, “Son, a closed mouth doesn’t get fed.” Take the hint, Democratic leadership!
It’s possible that some may consider this tool to be too forward, direct or confrontational. Maybe it is- but as somebody advised me a very long time ago: “If the truth hurts, it probably should."
