DK Quilt Guild: A place for quilters to gather, share ideas, projects, and to make the world a better place, one quilt at a time. Join us and share your thoughts, projects, questions, and tips. Quilters here are at many different levels of skill. Beginners and non-quilters are welcome, too.
We NEED diarists!
Your diary can be elaborate and full of photos, a simple story of your own quilting history or that of someone you love, a discussion of a current project or a technique you're learning, new adventures... You could post quilt retreat-day recipes (things like crockpot meals, so food appears without much attention from you)…
We could do show and tell or open thread, also, but either way, we need diarists to host. It is EASY if you're willing to take the chance.

Last year I started this quilt. It is called the Flower Farm by Bunny Hill Designs. I like the idea, but didn't like several aspects of it, like 6 snails and too much repetition of some elements. So I've adapted it, as I am want to do.
First, the colorway was pink. I prefer blue, so I changed that using my own fabric. I will also have a few squares that are machine embroidery, like the dragonfly. There will be some additional flowers, like the daisies in this first row. I also plan to add hollyhocks and poppies, and a machine embroidery hummingbird. I was going to put the hummingbird in the first row, but I already had the dragonfly.
So I have finished the first of the 4 rows. It is the most complicated row based on the amount of individual appliques. I am using the Appliquick tools for the turned edge appliques. I do find them useful.
The rows get easier after this. Below is a picture of the quilt as designed.
I much prefer my choices of blues and greens over shades of pink. If I wasn’t also doing embroidery and knitting, this would get done faster. I like doing different things, though.
So, how is your quilting going? Pictures always welcome.
