I don’t have much tonight. I’ve been taking care of my 9 and 12-year-old friends while their parents are out of town. Tonight, I pick them up from school and take them to soccer practice. I’ve been driving all around town for the last 4 days with plenty of time to think and I have a few questions.
~First, I understand prices going up. I mean if you paid more for it, you should charge more. The thing is, a whole lot of time, those raising the price didn’t pay more. Like, if the price of gas goes up, ok, raise it. But why on the gas that fills the oil drums under your pumps? You didn’t pay more for that. Raise it when they are refilled.
The same with the cereal on the shelf. Why raise it while it’s on the shelf? You didn’t pay more for it. Raise the price on the next batch that comes in, the stuff you did pay more for.
~If my lettuce can be washed before I buy it, even triple washed sometimes, why can’t my grapes come washed?
~I really did drive all over and back in the last 3 days, used a tank of gas, $36. I was thinking while I drove about how long that would take in a horse and buggy or walking. I was wondering if the world would be a better place if humans have never learned to travel such long distances as we have. I know the planet would be better off, but would people?
These are the things I think about when I’m driving. Eventually though, I just give up and crank the volume on the radio.
I may be a bit late; I have get to pick the boys up and drop them off at soccer.
