I've been wondering for awhile what Bush's plan really is. A lot of people tell me that Bush is just plain dumb and he doesn't have a plan for anything. I can't agree. I can't see that what he's done are the random actions of an idiot.
Let's start at the beginning. Let's say that Bush doesn't really want to destroy the Constitution or our democracy. OK. What one thing would he have done to change the slide our Constitution and democracy have taken? I mean, if this is all random, about half the time, he'd be OK, and the other half of the time, he wouldn't be. I mean, there are degrees and everything. But there's no 50% of what he's done that, for example, increases free speech, or increases the rights of, oh, anybody. Everything is steered to slowly and steadily stripping us of our civil liberties.
Next. The economy. He's wrecked it. He's taken a nice surplus and squandered it and racked up huge, I mean Classical, debt. He's rewarded those who least deserve it on the backs who can least afford it. What one thing could he have done differently that would have made anything better?
The environment. Same thing. Crime, poverty, education, social services, even bloody terrorism. This war in Iraq... this isn't going to create thousands more Islamist extremists who hate America and want to see her suffer?
The only thing he hasn't done is take all our natural resources and burned them while roasting marshmallows and singing "What a Wonderful World". Well, he's gotta do something next term.
The only question that remains is: Why?
