Well it is 3AM here in good ol Baton Rouge. I can't sleep, so I figured what the hell, I'll write something down.
I'm wondering if President Bush will pay a surprise visit to the KY 6th District. Obviously I will know before too long. Kerr has scheduled a rally Monday night with guests including the Governor, Mitch McConnell and some Congressman whom I've never heard of.
Seeing and reading about Kerr only convinces me more that she will have no idea what the hell she is doing if she makes it to the House. She is the classic Suzie Terrell candidate. "Vote for me not because of what I can do, but who I know. I'm in with the big boys, vote for me". That bit Terrell in the ass, and Bush took the hit a bit harder b/c he campaigned so vigorously for her. I'm wondering if he'll be bold enough to take the same risk with Kerr.
If Bush does not show up Monday, it probably means that he has no confidence that Kerr can pull it out. If Bush moves in and Kerr loses, it will be seen as a referendum on Bush, whether it actually was or not. That's the last thing he needs coming into an election year, and especially after the horrendous month he's had.
I'm divided. I kinda hope he comes and Kerr still loses. But then again, his coming there could easily give her a boost, though who knows how much. if he does show up, it means he thinks she can win somehow. At the same time, I'd love it if he didn't show. The rumor is out there that he may be showing up. So now, if he doesn't, that will make it look like even he has given up on Kerr, and she'll probably lose.
I'm just wildly guessing for the hell of it. I know nothing about KY politics. But the Dems have a chance to nab 2 seats back from the GOP with KY and SD, and hopefully 3, once that crook Billy Tauzin leaves down here in LA.
Well speculate all you want. Write me some predictions. The Kentucky race will make the evening interesting, since it looks like a clean Kerry blowout in Wisconsin. the KY race will keep the night fun for a bit.
