Dear CNN,
I doubt that my influence as a mere viewer and news junkie will actually make this sort of change happen, but I am writing to urge you to stop airing Mary Matalin as one of your political consultants.
Difference of opinion is one thing, but Matalin's repeated practice of saying things that are simply, factually, wrong is nothing but reckless. Just a few minutes ago, she told us that:
• Revealing photographic evidence that America under Bush-Cheney tortured prisoners is a greater crime than the fact the this country, under that administration, committed torture;
• Waterboarding, she says, is somehow not torture, despite the fact that we, as a country have agreed that it is for decades under the Geneva Conventions and other international legal agreements;
• And, just plain spitefully, that she didn't miss John King and the other consultant at last night's Press Club dinner.
She's just plain rude; can't we begin, via CNN, to take this conversation to another, more mature level than the Limbaughs, Becks, and other AM hate radio hosts? Matalin is not merely disrespectful, what she's saying is factually inaccurate. It isn't opinion, it is demonstrably false.
Respectfully,
+++UPDATE+++: Thanks so much for the Rec Listing! I know it's a slow Sunday AM, but I hope we generate a LOT of letters to this effect.
