OK, it appears that the Towhee that was playing pre-dawn alarm clock the other day was indulging in an alarm call. It not only had that insistent and incessant quality, but it hasn't happened since. What was out there, however, remains unknown. Meanwhile, yesterday, in nearby Hayward, CA I stumbled across Dark Eyed Juncos, CA (Brown) Towhees, Spotted Towhees and wild turkeys all sharing a patch of ground, which I found rather interesting since they are all pretty much ground feeders.
Today there isn't much going on that is remotely new and exciting except that the bok choy seeds I planted last week are now sprouted and standing about 1/4" high. This is no doubt because we finally got some sun, it is about 70 already.
Mark discussed gadgets the other day. Well, I just got a Xoom and can testify that Google Sky Map is pretty cool, though I haven't played with it too much yet. It has built in GPS and comes with Google Maps too, which will be helpful. I'll be in and out all day as I a)do chores and b) begin to explore it a bit further.
So, what is happening in your neck of the woods, and where might said neck of the woods be?
