Well, folks, the Donald is definitely in. Earlier today, Donald Trump told Bloomberg News that he's going to run for president in 2012--but won't make a formal announcement until after the season finale of Celebrity Apprentice.
New York real estate developer Donald Trump says he has decided “in my mind” to run for president, yet won’t make an official announcement before the season finale of his reality television show later this month.
“In my mind, I have already decided,” Trump, 64, said in a telephone interview yesterday. “I am going to announce. But I can’t do anything until the show ends.”
Trump said he will focus on “making our country rich and respected,” by creating jobs, boosting the economy and stopping China and the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries from taking advantage of the U.S.
Looks like it wasn't a publicity stunt after all. However, if Trump's decision earlier today to pass on Letterman is any indication, he's definitely not ready for prime time.
The news has apparently passed with a yawn in wingnut land. There's virtually no mention of this at either OneNewsNow, WND, RedState, Free Republic or CBN. Given the supposed excitement over Trump, one has to wonder if that bodes well for his chances. Also of note--the most recent polls indicate Trump getting destroyed by Obama in the general election.
