Tonight we have special state legislative elections in Wisconsin and California, a mayoral race in Denver, and a bunch of other downballot contests in Indiana. (Background here.) And there may yet be a few more smaller races that I'm missing! We won't be liveblogging the results tonight, but feel free to use this thread to follow them. And please post links to good sites to track the returns.
Also, it's nice to see people are already using the diaries here - looks like they're working pretty well. And if I might just say in general, I think we had a pretty good first day. A couple of bumps, as expected, but overall I'm really pleased. Here's a pair of numbers that stand out to me: The version of yesterday's Daily Digest that was cross-posted at DK got 15 comments. Today's has 262 and counting.
UPDATE: The AP calls it for Democrat Steve Doyle!
Update: jeffmd here, just throwing this reference map of the AD up. For reference, La Crosse is the dark blue blob. Onalaska is the blob directly north of it (which as of 9:20 CDT has yet to report), and Campbell, which has already given Doyle a nice margin, is the medium blue blob along the river. Farmington town, the squarish blue area along La Crosse Co's northern border, will also help.
My teachers always told me "label your axes!" and the same should hold true for maps. This map is pegged to Obama's margin over McCain. The La Crosse shade of blue is for areas that Obama won by 30-50%, Farmington is 20-30%, and Onalaska is 10-20%.
