Whenever I go into Home Depot they offer me a credit card, and I decline.
I defaulted on my credit cards awhile back, & as soon as the 10 year window closed, I got a spate of offers in my e-mail box, & Home Depot offering me credit. I relegated the offers to the spam box. These offers were from the same people who had collectors on my ass.
I decline b/c in the interim I have learned to live w/in my means. I have learned to save for things I need or want. If I can't pay for it, I can't have it. End of story.
I do need a car, which is a big ticket item. But I'm trying to find the best way to get one.
I'm saving a down payment, entering contests, considering various options, like getting a car w/advert skins & such. Some are long shots, but in the meantime, I keep saving up.
But I will not take a credit card offer that charges me 18-25% interest for anything, particularly when those crooks are paying zero interest on their loans from my tax dollar subsidies to them.
I'm giving them 0% interest loans & they're inviting me to pay them 20%.
Blow it out your asses.
If I can't pay cash, well then I can't have it.
One way to pay cash is to borrow from your retirement savings. You pay it back to yourself. I've done it. It works very well. No interest. You can borrow what you have in your account & you just pay it back to yourself.
Dump credit cards. They are ripping you off.
If you have an IRA,or any of the retirement plans, & you really need to buy something big ticket, borrow the cash from yourself. No interest. It's your money. You only pay taxes on it if you don't pay it back.
So, decline credit cards. They are designed to keep us enslaved to the ruling class. But in their efforts to make us more responsible for our own destinies, they have unwittingly given us a way to be free of them.
Stash some cash if you can, & raid your stash when you need it.
And deny the crooks any opportunity to take your money.
They have too much money already.
We can bargain on sticker price when we have cash up front.
