Are there the votes? We don't know yet. This morning CSPAN is reporting that there are about 33 undecideds Boehner is working on. President Obama will speak shortly.
7:26 AM PT: No real news yet from the House. Real business is expected on the floor no sooner than 11:00 AM, EDT. Reportedly, the Republican caucus is meeting now. They must be having fun.
7:29 AM PT: Andrea Mitchell says Boehner's speakership is on the line. Crack analysis we get from Mrs. Greenspan.
7:38 AM PT: He's up. Right now, the House is still trying to pass a bill that the Senate won't vote for and would force us to relive this whole mess in 6 months. Doesn't resolve the problem, can't become law. We have to have a bipartisan bill, something that doesn't just please "one faction."
7:39 AM PT: Either Reid or McConnell plan would be viable, Senate needs to work on their plans to find something that the House will take. But let's all just compromise.
7:40 AM PT: Almost out of time. We have until Tuesday. The credit rating is at risk. We don't have a "triple A political system" to meet our triple A credit rating. That's an understatement.
7:41 AM PT: This shouldn't be a crisis. "There are plenty of ways out of this mess but we are almost out of time." Hinted at wanting a clean debt vote.
7:42 AM PT: Keep the pressure on Washington. Call, email, tweet. "The time for putting party first is over"
7:42 AM PT: Basic message: compromise now.
