I will add to this as I dig up more information.
According to the German newswire service DPA, a chemical explosion at Technical University of Dresden has injured dozens, possibly sending as many as 100 people to the hospital.
A spokeswoman for the university, said the accident had occurred at an experimental demonstration for freshmen. Someone had complained of nausea, then the building was evacuated and the fire brigade was alerted. What substances they were beaten in the chemical, the fire department could not say yet. According to information of MDR 1 RADIO SAXONY an arsenic-hydrogen compound is suspected. Then the garlic-like odor would indicate that several stakeholders would have noticed. Field crews of firefighters searched the premises after the accident. What constitutes the initial results, the spokesman could not say late at night though.
There were several rescue crews responding and several students transported to the hospital.
Another reason I like you tube, I can watch chemistry lectures from the relative safety of my apartment.
1:37 PM PT: Sorry it is in German. I'm trying to get a hold of a translator with better German than mine.:
1:58 PM PT: H/T to Commonmass for this quick translation of the video:
