Thinking people everywhere were appalled and disgusted by conservative icon Rush Limbaugh's vile jihad against Georgetown University student Sandra Fluke, but for musician Peter Gabriel it was a little more personal. It seems that the mound of sound used Gabriel's 1980s song "Sledgehammer" as the theme music for his attacks against Fluke, and Gabriel was not pleased:
Peter was appalled to learn that his music was linked to Rush Limbaugh's extraordinary attack on Sandra Flute [sic]. It is obvious from anyone that knows Peter's work that he would never approve such a use. He has asked his representatives to make sure his music is withdrawn and especially from these unfair aggressive and ignorant comments.
So it's back to whatever redneck, asshole music turns on Rush and his legions of dittoheads, while the rest of us kick back and spend a moment or two paying homage to Gabriel—because judging by the first few moments of that video, he's a slut too.
