Really.
Oh come on America, seriously?
Gas prices could lose Obama the presidency.
The fact of the matter amongst western democracy is that America feels the volatility of international petroleum prices more than an other nations.
Why you ask?
Because....taxes are low, hence any change in market price is immediately evident.
So when you say, "bomb. bomb, bomb Iran" repeatedly, what do you expect? Calm markets? Hence cheap gasoline. Really?
You know there is a simplistic individualist response to insulate you from higher gas prices....now don't you?
You don't?
Well good grief how silly of you.
There is a simple method, buy yourself a modern fuel efficient car rather than something with the fuel efficiency of an ocean going supertanker.
Oh sorry.
I must be some sort of Yuropeen socialist fascist who is willing to pay $8 a gallon, haven't I seen the adverts by Exxon promising half a million new jobs if we build a pipeline to import filthy tar sand products? I bet you will not see one penny in the reduction of gas prices when it is built, my money is on a price increase and it will be nothing to do with tax.
Low gas prices are so over, got that? They are dead and buried, do you think the costs wont be passed on? Do you believe the damage done and the difficulty of extraction will be cost free? Dream on.
So you want reasonable gas prices?
Ever thought of supply and demand theory?
Don't use so much.
It may not lower the price, but you will spend less no matter what.
I always wonder why efficiency is such a dirty word except when applied to corporate policy, then it becomes word of God, "thou shalt maintain the profit margin".
