From the 1977 High Times interview with Ted Nugent:
So I got my notice to be in the draft. Do you think I was gonna lay down my guitar and go play army? Give me a break! I was busy doin' it to it. I had a career, Jack! I ceased cleansing my body. No brushing teeth, no washing hair, no baths, no soap, no water. Thirty days of debris build. My hair was gettin' kinky, matted up. I just had chips, Pepsi, beer, syrup. Then a week before, I stopped going to the bathroom. I did it in my pants. Shit, piss the whole shot. My pants got crusted up. I was a walking, talking hunk of human shit.
So scared that he literally pissed himself (and more). Ever notice how cowards act like they are tough and like to accuse everyone else of being weak?
Mitt Romney needs to be confronted with this and asked if he still thinks Ted is a great American.
Why is it that all of these chicken hawks get to rebrand themselves as American patriotic tough guys keen on war for everyone else but not for them? Look at Dick Cheney, Mitt Romney, George W. (MIA stateside Reserve flyboy), etc...
It always seems that the biggest cheerleaders for war are the guys that were too afraid to go fight themselves. Now don't get me wrong, Vietnam was a farce and I do not blame anyone for wanting to avoid it (even if it took defecating on yourself for a week to do it). The point here is if that was your choice, you lose the right to advocate for war for anyone else... period!
Rebranding yourself as a tough guy American gun toting patriot, draping yourself in the flag, threatening the POTUS as un-American and weak is beyond hypocritical, it's delusional.
The fact that any serious candidate for the Presidency not only doesn't protest this behavior but actively seeks his endorsement is scary.
Whoever the host of the next showTed Nugent appears on, spewing his false bravado, had better call him out on this fact or else just pack up any pretense of journalistic integrity and go back to writing graffiti on closet walls with a crayon. Unfortunately, they probably consider this a signature quality for giving him a show on Fox News.
