I have a secret for you. It is very hard to say no to TexDem. I used to think that I was the master at arm twisting. Well, he is the master of delegation. When he asked if I could pick up Mojo Friday, how could I say no? And why would I want to? Would any of us say no to the chance accrue not only the Mojo but the comraderie of our fellow Mojo-ers (is that actually a word or should I say Mojo-ites?)
The bad luck - there is the slight chance that the internet will fail me at Netroots Nation. I had less than perfect coverage yesterday and the non-union Cox Cable, who runs the internet at the conference center, blamed my browser. Ironically, I can sit in the lobby near the cafe and use their internet with nary a problem. Go figure. But if you don't see me immediately in the comments, please forgive me and get on with festivities!
As a newby to Netroots Nation, I wasn't sure what to expect but I've quickly learned that there is too much to do and not enough time to do it. I can meet people or attend panels but I can't always do both. So I've worked to find a balance. I have to say my favorite half hour was spent chatting with Meteor Blades about South America. I wish he lived closer so that I could invite him to dinner to meet the family. He would fit right in.
Morning News Dump in the Rotunda
And so would so many other great people that I have met. Two more days to go and I hope to meet many more. The ones that know me already are happy to see me but it's the ones who aren't sure who I am that I like meeting the most - they don't know a military wife publishes at DKos and are often surprised (though they try to hide it) and pleasantly pleased.
MOT on DailyKos Radio (I almost screwed up and tried to introduce myself while he was being interviewed. Oops.
As our Mojo fun begins, I have a favor to ask... in about a half hour, Joan Brooker will be publishing a diary,
The Women's War. If you would be so kind as to give it a little attention on this fine Friday, I would really appreciate it. And, cross your fingers for me because if the internet is working, I will be liveblogging the panel that she is introducing. That is, I'll be liveblogging if I can survive today's edition of Mojo Friday. I'm not sure my trigger finger is strong enough to handle Mojo Friday and a blog later in the same day... damn that delegating Southerner.

On with the games!!
Mojo Friday Guidelines
1) If you comment you have to recommend all comments. (in order to receive mojo you have to give mojo. It's only good mojo manners.)
2) Everything you say may be taken as a joke (so if you ask a question, expect a silly answer)
3) You must recommend the diary (and pimp it unapologetically)
4) You don't have to comment to recommend.
5) You can't steal my idea (right, like that ain't goin' to happen)
6) Please, no pictures or YouTubes until after 300 comments. Now, after 300, use a little common courtesy and be responsible in the number.
7) Mojo mojo mojo mojo, mojo mojo mojo.
8) TexDem (that's me) is not bound by the guidelines. Heh
Mojo Friday Goals
A. At least 300 different commenters and 1000 comments by 1:30 PM EST and 1500 by 5:00 PM EST Friday Night that it's posted.
B. 100 recommends for each comment, at least.
C. Stay on Recommend List at least five hours (this requires some strategic planning by you guys, refer to guideline #3)
D. At least 200 diary recommends. 300 would be better, spread the word.
E. And always, fun fun fun.
F. Have at least 75% average participation rate as seen here in the Mojo Friday Postgame Show by Woodtick.
G. (New) Have at least 30 kossacks over 90% participation (see here for some tips).
H. Overload the servers with recommends, not to mention dominate Top Comments Mojo list. (we do tend to mess with the site with all of our recommends at one time)(also, to dominate the Top Comments Top Mojo we need at least 50 comments with over 200 recommends, see guideline B)
I. That's enough for now. (Have a suggestion? Post it.)
