On Sunday, July 15th, 2012, beginning at 2:30 PM (Central Time) PPTS will air it's 17th episode, with the above-referenced title.
Listeners may recall a previous episode (from May 6th, 2012, Episode #7), in which the show created a foundational basis for our next discussion on this expanded topic.
This show will not repeat that information, but will catapult forward from it. If you want to fully understand this show, I'd invite you to listen to the previous episode which lays the foundation for the discussion about "Public Education, and the Larger Plan". It's not "required reading", but it ?might? help.
Although, I must quickly admit, that was the absolute WORST episode, in terms of production quality, I have ever recorded. I had a huge fever, a most terrible cold, and allergies that I never knew I had before! But, if you can suffer through that, the information is very valuable. :)
Follow me just below the squiggledoodlethingey fold, and I'll explain.
Important Update:
Please check out this "right now" video from Amy Goodman, of Democracy Now and Lisa Graves, of "ALEC Exposed" fame. It's an important ALEC update!
Tried for years in State Houses across the land, a movement which now has transcended into the upper chambers of power in the United States of America has been testing theories, ideas, and plans.
In a very real way, this group has been using the State Houses of the Progressive Southern United States as their own private, personal laboratory. The group, using "agents" such as:
+The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC),
+The Friedman Foundation, and
+The National Center for Public Policy Research (among others this show will discuss),
has learned some things in the past few years that now are reaching to the floor of the US House of Representatives, and the US Senate.
Yet, their most cherished reach is into the government of every State in the Union. "Under the Dome" refers to a State House, not the federal government...yet. But this group has established firm roots there which will, if not yanked out, burned, cut into small pieces, and distributed evenly among the seven seas, do something never before experienced by our nation.
Their goal is to destroy democracy in America. One of the tools they are using today, and will use in the future, to accomplish this goal is the usurpation of the American Education System. The stated, intended goal of this group is not to "fix", encourage, or even permit public education in America. Their goal is to remove it from the American landscape, and replace it with their own "education". I'm not saying it. They are saying it!
Lest anyone think otherwise, I can tell you that I am not, do not intend, wish, nor desire to be an alarmist, or that I would have this show referred to in any association with the likes of Alex Jones, et al. So, now that we have that out of the way....
One of the things the Progressive South taught this group is that the very best of all possible places to hide is out in the open. They do. They publicly state their case for all to see, hear, feel, and respond to.
Another thing Southern Progressives have taught this group is that pretty much any lie can be believed, especially if the lie is couched in terms that would seem to "help" those who hear it.
The other amazing lesson this group has learned, from Pennsylvania to Florida, from North Carolina to New Mexico, is that if you cannot create your own preference by legislation, you can create a perceived "need" for your preference by simply defunding that you oppose. Indiana knows this. So does Wisconsin. Louisiana knows this, and proudly spouts off about it at the drop of a letter grade. Florida knows this well, and is not only suffering because of it, but has become so aware of this truth that they are raising up against it--and they are way behind the power curve. Tennessee is looking at what Texas already knows. These are their words, not mine. That's what the citizens of these States across the Progressive South are saying...today.
But every good movement requires a stellar leader. This group has leaders by the droves, working every day to advance their philosophy into every nook and cranny of the lives of people through their elected government. From the Court House ("I will NEVER vote in favor of raising taxes while I am your City Councilman!"--received by hand today at my home), to the State Houses of the Progressive South (Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginina, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and Missouri--in that order), spreading out their lessons learned across the nation until, finally, it only makes perfect sense, they would tell you, to nationalize the idea.
They have. They are. They will. Unless we, the citizens of America, choose to stop them in their legislative tracks. Now. Public Education is an easy target, with immediately identifiable villains and victims. What better opportunity to spread the lies, deceits, and government's stolen funds?
That's what this episode will talk about on Sunday. I cannot yet give you the name(s) of our Special Guest(s). When I have them confirmed, I will update this post and the show episode's information page. It's a very confounding topic, with many diverse views. My first inclination for the show was to provide two Special Guests in a "Point-Counter-Point situation. I had specific guests in mind, but I discover at this late moment they are not available this Sunday. I'm still working on that. I'll let you know. Suggestions, recommendations, offers are welcome!! :)
This is a very large issue, surrounding a very large problem. It requires very large thinking and understanding, because it will demand a very large solution. But, my theory is that, if this group can utilize the Progressive South to create this dilemma, then we Southern Progressives can use it to create a better, stronger, and long-lasting solution, as well. We'll use this same laboratory to preserve Public Education in America, and deny this group the realization of their dreams.
We'll do our part to save democracy in America, too.
I hope you will join us live this Sunday. Please feel free to call into the show, beginning at 2:30 PM (Central Time) by calling (347) 426-3348 and sharing your questions or comments on the show. You can also log into the show at http://blogtalkradio.com/... and join us in our very lively chat room.
But, for the first time ever, you can also join in the conversation here, with your comments and replies.
"We're on the air!"
I'll see YOU there!
For the show,
The Tennessee Progressive
