I'm just asking, because I notice that at last count on the Rec List, it must be three.
Apparently, Charles Pierce did it first (according to the diarist).
Then, it appears the New York Times did it.
Finally (as of this writing), John Nichols of the Nation did it.
Wow, three eviscerations in one day on the same person!
I'm not trying to be flippant here, but unless de-evisceration is covered by the insurance plan that members of Congress can buy, it just seems impossible to me that Paul Ryan could be eviscerated three times in one day. Also, I think de-evisceration must take some time, so Rep. Ryan must be very busy with doctors' appointments today.
Allow me to supply some synonyms for the verb eviscerate: disembowel, gut, exenterate, weaken, devitalize. There may be others; this is not an exhaustive list.
However, I think that such synonyms might be useful for anyone else who wishes to discuss the opinions of pundits regarding the selection of Paul Ryan as Mitt Romney's running mate.
