Some of you old-timers might recognize the name Perro Amarillo, having read his diaries, and/or perhaps sparred with him a time or two (or three) in comments. His last comment on dkos was back in July, and in fact, it will be his last comment here. Perro Amarillo, my dear older brother, died this morning of a massive heart attack.
He was a gifted singer/songwriter and played guitar but turned to the ukelele after arthritis in his fingers demanded it. He was a damned proud liberal and a staunch supporter of President Obama and every other Democrat, except the blue dogs. He enjoyed this site, though hadn't posted as much in the last year or so.
When he died, he was within a day's drive of his home in Austin, having returned from a wonderful road trip to Oregon on a family visit. He loved his road trips, whether in his Austin-Mini or on his motorcycle, he loved music, especially the music scene in Austin and the annual visits to the Kerrville festival, he loved his family and his many, many friends, and my God, we will all miss him.
