Okay, so maybe Mitt Romney isn't really a Unicorn.
But, I think he should prove that he isn't one. I mean, if people are going to say Obama wasn't born in the US, then we should have our own rebuttal, especially when Kansas has just gone stupid.
There is a terrific Facebook page called: Mitt Romney is a Unicorn and it is encouraging folks to sign a petition, Ask Kansas: "Is Mitt Romney a Unicorn?".
More below the orange squiggle....
Three hours ago, the FB page, Mitt Romney is a Unicorn, posted the following:
Wow! Just a few hours, and already over 8,000 people have sent messages, asking the Kansas secretary of state to investigate whether Mitt Romney is a unicorn!
Keep up the pressure, send messages, and... share, share, share! This "unicorner" approach helped shame the AZ secretary of state into backing down from similar birther threats a few months ago, and it can work here.
For those who missed it earlier, KS Secretary of State Kris Kobach said he might keep President Obama off the ballot, and is launching an investigation, based on a complaint from... one person.
Well, if one complaint is enough to launch an asinine state investigation, then let's send thousands demanding that Kobach investigate whether Romney is in fact... a unicorn.
Send a message, keep up the pressure, and make sure to share, share, share!
There are now 12,836 signatures. Join the fun! (And the comments left by people signing the petition are pretty funny!)
Here's more information from the petition page:
Fight birtherism! Demand Kansas investigate the "unicorn Romney" conspiracy! (note: This worked in Arizona, and it can work here!)
The Kansas Secretary of State, Kris Kobach, has announced that he may keep Barack Obama off the ballot because of a lack of evidence regarding the President's birth certificate. What provoked him to do so? A complaint from one person:
Three of the state's top elected Republicans on Thursday determined they lacked sufficient evidence of President Barack Obama's birth records to decide whether to remove the Democratic nominee from the November ballot in Kansas. The State Objections Board comprised of Secretary of State Kris Kobach, Attorney General Derek Schmidt and Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer postponed until Monday action on a complaint filed by a Manhattan resident pending review of a copy of Obama's birth certificate from Hawaii. "I don't think it's a frivolous objection," Kobach said. "I do think the factual record could be supplemented." (source)
But what about Mitt Romney? What about the persistent rumors that Mitt Romney is in fact, a unicorn? There has never been a conclusive DNA test proving that Mitt Romney is not a unicorn. We have never seen him without his hair -- hair that could be covering up a horn. And if Mitt Romney is a unicorn, he is not Constitutionally qualified to be president.
If one complaint from a crackpot birther was enough to provoke Kobach to launch a state investigation, then a few thousand messages regarding unicorn Romney should be enough for him to launch an investigation on that front as well.
Send Kris Kobach a message. Tell him America demands that Romney be investigated, and that the truth come out. Is he a unicorn or not?
BTW, if you have Facebook, I encourage you to go "like" the
"Mitt Romney is a Unicorn" page . There are only 4,745 likes at the moment but it would be great if the "Mitt Romney is a Unicorn" page had more.
6:49 PM PT: Just want to add some of the terrific comments people are leaving on the petition page:
Why, yes I do believe Mitt Romney could be a unicorn especially when he tilts his head. He needs to prove to the American people there is nothing under that head of hair or remove his name from the ballot.
I am sure I saw Mitt Romney gamboling thru a meadow in Ohio the other day. He had what looked to be a horn coming from his forehead and was draped in a colorful rainbow. Please investigate as I have heard it said that he is a unicorn and we cannot have a unicorn as president since they are from mythology and are not Americans.
I demand that you continue the investigation into Mitt Romney's heritage - up to & including a DNA test. If a certified long form birth certificate, testimony from the Republican Gov of Hawaii, contemporary newspaper citations & more in support of our PRESIDENT is not enough, Mitt Romney's personal protestations are NOT sufficient.
Until I see DNA testing proving that he is NOT A UNICORN, I feel that Gov. Romney should be kept off the Kansas ballot for the office of President of the United States.
The US Constitution prohibits Unicorns from serving as President in the United States! My sister-in-law's brother's best friend's bloodhound smelled Mitt Romney from 50 yards away, and he will swear out an affidavit that Romney was absolutely suffused with that unmistakeable eau du unicorn scent! And the dog should know. He's a blood hound!
