Actually, that's an understatement. The analyst in me will return with an entry about what Romney's video tapes might do to the GOP, never mind his sorry ass, in a day or so.
But, I'm not just annoyed. I'm disgusted, I'm livid, and I am sick and tired of people who have money not caring about all of us - especially when they run for office.
You see, when you want to be elected to serve people, you have to serve them all - even if you disagree with them.
It's disgusting that Mitt Romney clearly has a bigoted rich white man's view of the world. That's bad enough. He's incompetent and aloof, and that makes it worse.
But worst of all is his blatant disregard for what Democracy is and what we are: We are the United states of America. On some basic level, beyond anybody's opinion about political party, or government, or race, gender, religion, ethnic background or sexual preference is this - that actually, literally, the Constitution protects everybody.
So, when Mitt the Shit decides that he can safely not care about, ignore, or otherwise pretend that the 47% (his number, not ours) of us that support President Obama don't deserve his attention if he were to be President (fat chance now, Willard), he is breaking the law on the highest level - even if it is conceptual. That is the worst. Worse than the insults he hurled at all of us, or the contempt he feels.
Here is how the 47% most certainly feel:
The 47% want a President with a brain and a heart.
The 47% want a President who understands that 99% of us - even the ones with money - have to work hard for a living.
The 47% want a President that gets the "gorgeous mosaic" that is American culture.
The 47% want a President that believes in the United States of America not the rich white guys states of America.
The 47% want a Democracy where our right to vote is precious, and you actually have to win by campaigning to get it, and not by forcing our votes to not be counted.
Combined with the overt racism and irrational fear the Republican party has gotten in bed with, and I can only hope that our voters, America, can speak with a loud enough voice to landslide Mitt and the morons out of office and away from public life. It's time for a Goldwater election - and truly for all the right reasons.
Here's hoping Mitt's 47% becomes Barack's 67% on Election Day!
L'Shana Tovah everybody.
7:46 PM PT: And now - just to add to the idiocy that is Mitt - he has held a brief press conference to tell us all that the remarks were "off the cuff" and we might have missed the context they were presented in because we don't have the whole video.
Way to blow that apology, Willard! Honestly, it's like watching that red shirt in Star Trek. You know he's a goner, you just don't know when or how...
