On September 30th 52 year old Randolph Linn started a fire in the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo mosque causing over 1 million dollars in damages in 'retaliation' for attacks on U.S Embassies and outrage at supposed special treatment to Muslims in the United States.
In court this week Linn plead guilty and told the judge:
“Muslims are killing Americans and trying to blow stuff up,” Linn also reportedly told the judge. “Most Muslims are terrorists and don’t believe in Jesus Christ.”
Besides admitting to drinking 45 beers in the 7 hours leading up to his crime Linn said:
that he committed the crimes because Fox News and conservative talk radio had convinced him that “most Muslims are terrorists.”
“Every day you turn on the TV, you see Muslims trying to kill Americans,” he said, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. When asked whether he thinks all Muslims are terrorists, Linn reportedly responded, “I’d say most of them are.”
when Judge [Jack] Zouhary asked him that, ‘Do you know any Muslims or do you know what Islam is?’” one mosque member who attended the hearing recalled to WNWO. “And he said, ‘No, I only know what I hear on Fox News and what I hear on radio.’
Linn was actually
convinced that:
Muslims are killing “us” and were in control of the Department of Homeland Security and the White House,
I guess the good news is that Linn was not armed with a gun as well....
Details made public at the plea hearing also revealed that the arsonist, Randolph Linn, was carrying a pistol when he entered the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo on September 30, only minutes after several worshippers had left, and had more guns in his car.
This is not
the first timeFOX has led to violence of course:
Byron Williams, a 45-year-old ex-felon, exploded onto the national stage in the early morning hours of July 18.
According to a police investigation, Williams opened fire on California Highway Patrol officers who had stopped him on an Oakland freeway for driving erratically. For 12 frantic minutes, Williams traded shots with the police, employing three firearms and a small arsenal of ammunition, including armor-piercing rounds fired from a .308-caliber rifle.
In an affidavit, an Oakland police investigator reported that during an interview at the hospital, Williams "stated that his intention was to start a revolution by traveling to San Francisco and killing people of importance at the Tides Foundation and the ACLU."
Williams points to David Horowitz, Alex Jones, and mostly Glenn Beck and FOX News for pointing out the 'truth' to him.
