The hate group American Family Association is ever so pissed at the Pentagon’s recent decision to extend certain benefits to the same-sex partners of service members. In addition to the newly granted benefits, Leon Panetta announced that housing, burials such as those at Arlington National Cemetery, and other benefits related to overseas deployments "present complex legal and policy challenges" but will remain under review. I suspect they are waiting to see what happens with DOMA before moving on to these more "complex" issues.
The American Family Association just isn't having it. They are urging their members to write to congress to, according to their pre-written letter, "restore sanity to the Department of Defense and stop social experimentation in the military."
Arlington National Cemetery told to recognize 'gay' partners as married
February 11, 2013
Equating homosexual partners to legitimate marriage, a spokesman for Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta said, ”Policy for burial at Arlington National Cemetery is under review..” See announcement here.
Among sweeping changes just signed by the departing Panetta are the issuing of military ID cards, which will give same-sex spouses and partners access to on-base commissaries, movie theaters and gyms.
Other changes Panetta is pushing for are prohibited by the Defense Of Marriage Act (DOMA), which Panetta and the Obama administration have asked the Supreme Court to overturn.
This means the military will recognize homosexual lovers as “married” and will give a full slate of benefits, including burial in Arlington National Cemetery.
Panetta, at every turn, has exposed the military to open homosexuality, which presents an unacceptable risk to good order, discipline, morale and unit cohesion - qualities essential for combat readiness.
TAKE ACTION
Send a letter to your members of Congress, letting them know that, on their watch, they have allowed the security of our nation to be endangered by focusing on social experimentation, rather than defense.
The current
policy of the Arlington National Cemetery allows for the spouses and children of service members to be buried at the cemetery.
The spouses, minor children, and certain adult children of all those eligible may be buried at Arlington. Spouses of members of the armed forces who were buried at sea or missing in action are also eligible, along with those whose military spouse was buried in an U.S. military cemetery overseas.
Even after we are dead we aren't good enough for them. How dare we presume to defile that sacred cemetery by insisting we be buried with our loved ones like other military families. Just when you thought these people couldn't possibly get any more hateful, they up their game.
Hey haters at the American Family Association, we can take action too. I urge you to contact your congress people and counter their message of hate with one of inclusion and respect.
