OK, before you click the link, read the following headline and paragraph and think about whether this is for real or an Onion-like satire done for April Fool's Day:
Georgia GOP Chair Warns That Straight People Will Enter Sham Gay Marriages For Benefits
“You may be as straight as an arrow, and you may have a friend that is as straight as an arrow,” Everhart said. “Say you had a great job with the government where you had this wonderful health plan. I mean, what would prohibit you from saying that you’re gay, and y’all get married and still live as separate, but you get all the benefits? I just see so much abuse in this it’s unreal.
Of course, you already know the answer. It's for real, from Saturday's Marietta Daily Journal:
One woman who has not “gone red” is Georgia GOP Chairwoman Sue Everhart of east Cobb, although she’s aware of the movement.
“Lord, I’m going to get in trouble over this, but it is not natural for two women or two men to be married,” Everhart said. “If it was natural, they would have the equipment to have a sexual relationship.”
Everhart said while she respects all people, if same sex marriage is legalized across the country, there will be fraud.
I guess she's calling for gubmint-subsidized vibrators or something here?
It was the "y'all" in the top quote that had me wondering if it was legit or not.
That is all. Carry on.
Update: EXCLUSIVE!! Raw Video Evidence of the very shocking fraud that Ms. Everhart fears:
Update x2: EXCLUSIVE!! MORE raw video evidence of the same fraud being perpetrated by a heterosexual couple 17 years earlier!!
Update x3: Here's Friends' take on the topic (embedding disabled unfortunately)
Seriously, though, is this really what they've been reduced to?
Stick a fork in the singing fat lady, folks; it's all but over at this point.
