On which side would you like to live?

Another one of those 1000 word pictures: The Right-wing side gives us the mountains of private garbage dumps, the hypocrisy of religion, guns and corporate pollution, payday predatory loans and senseless shootings, your world according to the GOP. Left-wing side needs no explanation.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

I don't recall the details all that well, but, in Sun Valley Idaho there is a plush golf course that is on leased National Forest land. There are also laws that allow mining claims on national forest land, even on land that has another lease.

About 10 years ago an environmental group filed a mining claim under the 18th green on the golf course and roped it off from anyone else - - They called it the "mine all mine - mine"

Answer for the liberal who is confused as to why all the strip clubs are on the Republican side: Dude, have you ever BEEN to Texas, or South Carolina??  They have the most churches per capita, and damn near every church has 2 strip clubs/adult bookstores within sight of the church front door!  As for why the projects in Republican land, where else are the victims of Republican jobs and housing scams going to live?

Thanks for the laugh.  I've had this comic up on my refrigerator for months.

Certainly a big component of Detroit's problems was the corruption and a lot of that was due to a corrupt dem machine there.

But, I think far more problems were due to the Republican control of all the areas surrounding Detroit (especially north of Detroit, some of the most beautiful areas of the country) that systematically sucked resources out of the area, screwed the Detroit municipality in every way it could and refused to invest anything back into Detroit.

There was also the dwindling respect for union rights in an area that practically invented the middle class - resulting in lower paying jobs all over with few benefits.

Great comment focusing on one component of the dem side (and not even the dem - just corruption in any guise) while glossing over how Repubs used the whole situation to their benefit in the suburbs.

      •  So the takeaway from your comment is that the (0+ / 0-)

Dem 'machine' running the municipality was, in effect, powerless to prevent the loss of almost 50% of the population since 1967?

People vote with their feet too, you know.
