Quick diary since I haven't seen it covered yet, but it's official and being reported by the Charlotte Observer. Moral Monday is headed to Charlotte, NC on Aug. 19.
Moral Monday is coming to Charlotte.
The protests, which began in Raleigh during the General Assembly session, will come to Charlotte’s Marshall Park on Aug. 19.
The protests drew thousands to Raleigh and more than 5,000 to Asheville this week on the first stop of the Moral Monday road trip. Organizers plan to take the protests across the state.
And Karma smiled upon me. Months ago, I had PTO approved for Aug. 19 and 20. No particular reason except it was that last long weekend of summer not already blocked out. Now, at long last, I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of Moral Monday.
There are several of us in the area, and others who may be able to make the trip. I've got plenty of parking at Casa Steeler if anyone wants to carpool to the light rail, which will probably be the best way to get around town.
If you can make it, let us know in the comments. Hopefully we can get some Kossacks out in the Queen City. Let's make this happen, only bigger!
