Have you ever heard of the term
clickster? I remember sitting across the table from a friend recently and while I was listening to two conversations at once (because SF Kossacks really are that interesting), I think he was referring to people who sign a lot of petitions as their primary action as clicksters. So, let's be clicksters. I've compiled a short list of petitions - short compared to how many flow through my email on any given day. These are all active campaigns and one's in which we're probably all familiar with to some degree.
Credo Action: Tell President Obama and Secretary of State Kerry: Reject Keystone XL
Rainforest Action Network: Tell New EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy to End Mountaintop Removal for Coal
Wendy Davis: Stand with Texas Students
Sierra Club: Protect the Grand Canyon from dangerous coal pollution!
Sierra Club: Tell your member of Congress Women must be heard in the climate change debate!
Sierra Club: Don't let drillers frack your air and water!
Working Families: Koch money shouldn't influence public television programming -- we want to see the film Citizen Koch aired on PBS!
NAACP: Sign the Not in My State Pledge to stop history from being rewritten
Organize by Credo: THANK TEXAS SENATOR WENDY DAVIS FOR STANDING UP FOR WOMEN EVERYWHERE
Credo Action: Tell NBC: Stop censoring the truth about the Keystone XL pipeline
Sierra Club: Tell the EPA: Cleaner air can't wait!
Center for Biological Diversity: TELL EPA: BAN FROG-CASTRATING ATRAZINE
Feel free to share more petitions in the comments.
Interestingly, when I typed the word clickster into wikipedia, this little guy came up.
Stitch
But according to Urban Dictionary, this is also a
clickster, and not quite so cute.
If you are in Chicago or have contacts there please take note:
Figbash posted this request for help on Facebook:
I am looking for your help in finding a place to park the Veteran's Green Bus overnight. They will be arriving in Chicago late Sunday night and will be appearing at Soldier Field early Monday morning. They need a place to park the 41' long bus, "Marg," and maybe find a place to shower. Would appreciate any suggestions you might have. They do excellent work! Here's their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/...
Kitchen Table Kibitzing is a community series for those who wish to share part of their evening around a virtual kitchen table with kossacks who are caring and supportive of one another. So bring your stories, jokes, photos, funny pics, music, interesting videos, and so forth. Or just say "Hi" if you've had a long day and are too exhausted to participate more actively. We would also appreciate links—including quotations—to diaries, news stories, and books that you think this community would appreciate.
Please note that pie fights will be unwelcome in this community, just as in most other series at DKos. There's lots of space at the rest of the site for fighting with other Democrats, progressives, and liberals, and we don't want those battles dragged into this community.
Finally, readers may notice that most who are posting diaries and comments in this series already know one another to some degree, but that definitely does not mean that newcomers will be excluded or unwelcome. We're happy to welcome guests to our kitchen table, and hope to make some new friends as well.
KTK posts nightly at 5:00 Pacific, 6:00 Mountain, 7:00 Central, 8:00 Eastern.
