You can find a couple of PDF files laying out a chronology of aerospace power from
1903 to 1979 and
1980 to present.
And, if you like to read up on classic aircraft, the magazine has a PDF archive of monthly Airpower Classics going back to 2006. Here's a couple for Major Kong - the B-52 and the KC-135. Here's a couple for shortfinals - the Camel and the Typhoon. (The Mosquito too, of course!) Consider the Ju-87 Stuka. Lessons learned from the IL-2 Shturmovik were instrumental in designing the A-10 Warthog. Even the Navy gets its share: the TBF/M Avenger the the F6F Hellcat and the PBY Catalina for example. Trainers and transports get their due.
All this plus articles on aerospace history, current events, and more. Enjoy!
